TechRadar Verdict
The Enlaps Tikee mini+ is an incredibly simple timelapse camera in both design and operation. It works best when connected to a WiFi or LTE network, but Bluetooth control is available via the Tikee Remote app. Build quality and image quality are both great for this type of camera, but the subscription options to ‘myTikee’ for remote image upload and compiling timelapses after are quite expensive.
Pros
- Extremely easy to use
- 4K resolution
- Compact and simple design
Cons
- Kit is expensive
- Subscriptions are expensive
- Bluetooth doesn’t offer full control
Enlaps Tikee mini+: One-Minute Review

Specialized timelapse cameras are essential for capturing long-term videos of construction, industrial processes, or natural phenomena over extended periods. The Enlaps Tikee mini+ is a strong contender among available timelapse cameras, capable of recording 4K timelapse videos with intervals ranging from five seconds to 24 hours. This is a camera that works best over an LTE or WiFi network for remote access and control, but Bluetooth control is also possible via the Tikee Remote app.
This camera is user-friendly, operating much like a point-and-shoot device. Its waterproof design allows for both indoor and outdoor use without additional housing. The battery can last up to four months with a 10-minute interval setting, and an optional solar panel can further extend its operational time. The mini+ also supports charging via a wall socket or USB-C.
The camera alone is priced at €799 (approximately $923 / £701 / AU$1411). A comprehensive kit, which includes a case, microSD card, spirit level, mounting arm, lock, and other accessories, costs nearly twice as much as the camera itself. Additionally, the Enlaps solar panel is a separate purchase, adding another €459 (around $538 / £400 / AU$815) to the total cost.

Enlaps Tikee mini+: Design
- Compact size
- Simple design
- No built-in solar panel
The Tikee mini+ features a simple design with a few buttons on the rear, along with a microSD card slot, a USB-C port, a micro SIM slot, and a power connector. The power connector design ensures waterproofing when the camera is connected to mains power or a solar panel, though the plug itself is not waterproof. Unlike the Tikee 4, this model lacks a built-in solar panel, but one can be purchased separately to extend capture times.
The mini+ measures approximately 5 x 5 x 2.75 inches (125 x 125 x 70mm) and weighs 4.4 lbs (1kg). Its weight is not a concern as it’s not designed for handheld use and is suitable for various mounting supports. The integrated 25,600mAh battery contributes significantly to its weight.
Other external features include a metal loop to attach an anti-theft cable, rubber strips on the base for stable placement on flat surfaces, and a standard 1/4-inch screw thread for attachment to tripods and mounting arms. For long-term projects, a mounting arm and anti-theft cable are beneficial for maintaining compositional consistency and security.

The camera boasts excellent build quality, feeling solid with an appealing, straightforward design. It carries an IP66 weather resistance rating, making it capable of withstanding various weather conditions, with an operating temperature range of -10 to 50 degrees Celsius.
Given its minimalist design, the mini+ is controlled via the Tikee Remote phone app or the myTikee website. For website control, the camera requires a WiFi network connection or an installed SIM card. Network connectivity maximizes the camera’s potential, allowing remote access to captures and the creation of new sequences.
Without a network connection, the camera can still be controlled using the Tikee Remote app via Bluetooth. A minor inconvenience is that the Bluetooth connection between the phone and camera drops shortly after a sequence begins, requiring reconnection to check progress or stop the sequence manually.
The camera’s lens is located on the front, and there is no built-in screen for shot composition. A live preview is available through the Tikee Remote app when connected to WiFi and LTE networks, but not when using Bluetooth. This limitation can be a drawback, as a live preview would be highly useful in all control modes.
Enlaps Tikee mini+: Performance
- Unbelievably easy to use
- Several field of view options
- Designed for low light
Setting up timelapse capture with traditional mirrorless cameras can be challenging, often involving precise exposure settings and potential flickering issues. In contrast, the Enlaps system offers remarkable simplicity. Camera control is straightforward, and the process of assembling and creating timelapses on the My Tikee website is largely automated.
The camera is equipped with a 12MP Sony 1/2.3-inch sensor featuring 1.55μm pixels and an f/2.8 aperture, delivering a full resolution of 4032x3024px. The lens provides a 149-degree diagonal field of view, with shooting modes including Fisheye 120 degrees, Dewarp 90 degrees, and Dewarp 110 degrees.
Among these options, only the Dewarp 90 degrees mode produces images free from barrel distortion. Timelapse intervals range from 5 seconds to 24 hours in Long-term mode, and from 5 seconds to 45 seconds in Event and Burst modes.

Overall image quality is excellent, surpassing many competing cameras, though backlit scenes can present challenges due to the lack of exposure compensation. However, adjustments can be made to footage using video editing software. The ability to capture photos in Raw and/or JPEG formats provides greater flexibility for post-editing.
For low light and night shooting, the mini+ automatically activates Low Light Mode, which is optimized to produce brighter and less noisy images with exposures capped at two seconds. Image quality in this mode is generally better in moderately lit indoor conditions than in very dark night scenes, though well-lit night scenes perform significantly better than poorly lit ones.

It is important to note that only JPEGs can be uploaded to the myTikee website for generating timelapse videos, meaning Raw files must be converted beforehand. The myTikee platform is remarkably user-friendly; without a subscription, a basic video with a watermark can be produced. For access to more advanced features, subscription plans are available: a basic option costs $45 per month plus VAT, a more comprehensive option is $96 plus VAT, and a bespoke on-demand option has unlisted pricing.
Additional subscriptions for storage and an AI Dashboard are also offered at $49 and $99 (excluding VAT), respectively. The AI Dashboard provides timelapse analysis for various scene elements, such as vehicles and PPE. Essentially, purchasing the camera means committing to a subscription-based ecosystem, a factor to consider before investing. However, as a professional timelapse solution, the associated costs may be acceptable for many users needing this type of camera.
The videos captured were in a 4:3 ratio (1920×1440) instead of 16:9. While it would be possible to zoom and crop the video to a 16:9 ratio and export at 1080p using video editing software, this would require downloading a full-resolution timelapse, which was not available without a subscription. Therefore, the 4:3 resolution was the highest downloadable option.
Should You Buy the Enlaps Tikee mini+?
Buy it if…
- You value simplicity: The Enlaps system is exceptionally user-friendly, from capturing images to compiling them into timelapse videos.
- You desire cloud control: For remote connectivity to a timelapse camera, this option provides excellent app and browser-based control.
- You intend to shoot long-term projects: For extended projects like construction site monitoring, a dedicated timelapse camera like this is highly recommended.
Don’t buy it if…
- You prefer to avoid subscriptions: To fully utilize the Tikee mini+ camera, a myTikee cloud subscription is necessary, and these subscriptions are not inexpensive.
- You do not plan for long-term capture: This timelapse camera is designed for extended indoor and outdoor capture. For shorter timelapses, a standard action or mirrorless camera might be more suitable.
- You require shorter intervals: The mini+’s minimum interval is five seconds, meaning approximately an hour of capture is needed for a 30-second timelapse.
How the Enlaps Tikee mini+ Was Tested
- Tested using a Bluetooth connection
- Used to capture shorter timelapses
- Tested in a busy city
The Tikee mini+ was tested in shorter bursts rather than for its full long-form timelapse capabilities, as extensive long-term testing would span several months. A smartphone was utilized for Bluetooth connection instead of installing a SIM card for remote access. The camera was tested in a bustling city environment to capture significant movement and also in various low-light conditions.
