Anthropic’s latest model, Claude Opus 4.6, is being integrated into GitHub Copilot. Initial testing indicates that Claude Opus 4.6 excels in agentic coding, especially when handling challenging tasks that demand careful planning and tool interaction.

    Availability in GitHub Copilot

Claude Opus 4.6 will be accessible to users with Copilot Pro, Pro+, Business, and Enterprise subscriptions.

Users can select this model through the model picker in several environments:

    • Visual Studio (agent, ask)
    • github.com
    • GitHub Mobile (iOS and Android)
    • GitHub CLI
    • GitHub Copilot coding agent (available for Pro and Pro+ accounts only)

The rollout will occur gradually. Users who do not see the option immediately should check again soon.
