Lenovo has unveiled its latest concept at CES 2026: the Legion Pro Rollable gaming laptop. This innovative device features a flexible OLED display that extends horizontally, a departure from Lenovo’s previous ThinkBook Plus Gen 6, which rolled vertically. The screen can transition from a standard 16-inch 16:10 aspect ratio to an expanded 21.5 inches, and further to an ultrawide 24 inches. This diagonal size surpasses even the 21-inch gaming laptop Acer previously offered.
The Pro Rollable concept is built upon the Legion Pro 7i platform and is expected to include an Intel Core Ultra processor and Nvidia’s top-tier RTX 5090 Laptop GPU. Specifics regarding RAM or storage configurations have not yet been disclosed.

Wider is better.

Lenovo suggests this concept could be particularly appealing to esports professionals who require portable training solutions. The laptop’s 16-inch, 21.5-inch, and 24-inch display settings are branded as “Focus Mode,” “Tactical Mode,” and “Arena Mode,” respectively. The design offers significant screen real estate without the need for an external portable monitor.
The horizontal rolling screen represents a desired evolution in display technology. Lenovo has a history of developing concept laptops into commercial products, with a rollable device already released and the ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist also progressing beyond its concept phase this year.

Upon demonstration, the concept revealed several areas for improvement. The motors produced noticeable noise, and the screen exhibited occasional stuttering during its rolling and unrolling actions. The display resolution remained fixed at its 24-inch ultrawide setting, meaning that in the 16-inch and 21.5-inch modes, only the central portion of the larger display area was visible. A significant gap was observed on the sides of the lid, where the additional screen segments are stored, exposing the underside of the RGB logo. Furthermore, no games were installed for testing purposes. While the concept is innovative, it clearly requires further development.

The potential for rollable display technology extends beyond laptops. A rollable desktop monitor, perhaps a 27-inch 16:10 OLED expanding to a 34-inch ultrawide, or a 32-inch model extending to sizes comparable to the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 or Dell 52-inch 6K, represents an exciting future possibility.
