Microsoft has begun testing a redesigned web experience for Xbox Cloud Gaming, which presents a more console-like appearance. Xbox Insiders currently have access to this preview UI, featuring updated navigation, numerous new animations, and a refreshed overall design. This update appears to hint at future developments for Xbox consoles.
The previous major update to the Xbox Cloud Gaming interface occurred almost two years ago, introducing social features and UI elements similar to the Xbox dashboard. The latest design further aligns the experience with an Xbox console, incorporating various new animations, a dedicated library section, and a rounded aesthetic.

The new interface has a library section, too.
New animations include a dashboard interface that slides into view, an animated Xbox icon that illuminates and transforms, and enhanced navigation across different dashboard sections. These subtle modifications significantly improve the Xbox Cloud Gaming navigation, which previously resembled a web application loading individual sections.
Patrick Siu, principal product manager at Xbox, stated that a refreshed web experience for Xbox Cloud Gaming is being tested, which establishes the foundation for accelerating the ability to build new experiences for players. This preview offers an initial look at the new web interface in browsers, allowing users to try the updated design and product flow before its widespread release.

The description of this new UI as a foundation for “new experiences” suggests Microsoft might implement this design in a future Xbox console. Additionally, there is a possibility this interface could be integrated into the Xbox app on PC, which could benefit from navigation and animation enhancements.
Microsoft is seeking feedback on this new Xbox Cloud Gaming UI before its general release in the coming months. To try it, users can visit the new https://play.xbox.com/ site and activate the preview features toggle within the settings menu.
